One video shows a lorry and a cyclist approaching the junction from Granton and then making a U-turn once they realize the road conditions. Due to significant flooding, the road is likely to remain closed for some time, the council confirmed. Local resident Helen Todd said: “I’ve lived in the area since 2009 and I’ve never seen flooding here like this. To me, this is a real warning that the climate is changing. It shows the kind of impact we’re going to have on our daily lives if we don’t act now and take this issue seriously.” It comes after drivers were told to stay off the roads as heavy rain and flooding wreak havoc on road and rail networks. The floods have led to disruption on roads and railways as heavy rainfall lashed some areas. A yellow warning is in place for much of eastern Scotland until 6pm on Friday. Authorities said the rain would make driving difficult, with the possibility of reduced visibility and surface water, as well as conditions that could affect travel on both the road and rail networks.
