This led to a police chase that was captured on video at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Pitt River Road and showed a black Mercedes sedan traveling at high speeds in pursuit. The vehicle stopped on Highway 1 in Coquitlam near the IKEA store. Witness Randy Kang said he left work at 4pm in Lougheed Acura and saw several police vehicles. He then spotted officers chasing two people. One of those individuals fell to the ground and was surrounded by officers, while the second individual was pursued. Kang heard three shots, but the person being chased did not fall to the ground. He wasn’t sure what happened next.

A statement from the Coquitlam RCMP released to the media reads: “There is a major police incident with multiple crime scenes. Our officers are currently investigating and there will be a full update in the near future.”
